Great House Fabiola was born on the 28th June 2002 and was the oldest of our alpacas until we bought the two from Horsehill. She is definitely the boss of the herd and woe betide any other alpacas who forget this. She's always first to greet us in the morning - and ensures she gets pick of the buckets as befits her status as head of the herd. However, she takes her role as guardian very seriously and will wait outside the feeding pen until all the other alpacas are inside
Three of her children, Ariadne, Brunhilde and Circe are also in our herd. All have excellent fleece and lovely temperaments so she passes her good qualities on. She is very easy to handle and incredibly calm, whatever you're doing with her. She loves going for walks in her halter and leading rein.
Fabiola generally has good formation and a good shaped face. She has very dense mid fawn fleece with good coverage, although it has coarsened now she's getting older.
She has an excellent pedigree with ancestors from Great House and Bozedown, two well known and successful breeders. She had Circe quite late in the year in 2009 so we didn't mate her that year. She was mated in 2010 to Livanti's Top Brass, a superb Australian fawn male and has produced an excellent dark brown male, Euripides who we are considering for our show team next year.
