Brunhilda is an incredibly pretty mid brown alpaca (a 'ginger biscuit') with two little white socks on her front feet and really fluffy ears. She was born in August 2008. She has grown well and has an excellent fine fleece with good crimp. She has inherited her mum's sweet nature, is very easy to work with and is very happy to be led on a halter. As the youngest in the 'maidens' she used to get a bit bossed around but stands her ground now and makes sure she gets some of the food each morning. She loves any additional food going and will try anything - carrots, apples, kiwi fruit peelings, strawberry tops.
We showed her at the Royal Show in 2009 and she came third in the junior brown class. She also gave Neil a worrying time by jumping clean over the hurdles of her pen. Her fleece came third at the Scottish show the same year. She has good conformation, a very dense fleece, good coverage. She was mated for the first time in 2010 to Purston Peruvian Kim, a very fine dark brown and has produced a delightful dark rose grey, Elouisa, for whom we also have high hopes.
