I decided to check up the details for the father of Dido and Damocles as they were both lighter than their Mum and I was sure that they had been mated with a black. They had been, Koricancha Sinbad of Wessex, so that shows how tricky it can be to tell what colour you'll get.
Whilst looking at the Alpacas of Wessex web site, I saw they were selling up so I phoned up to find out what stock they had and how much. I did wonder about getting another stud. The farm manager, Edward answered and I had a very interesting chat. They do have several possible studs which seem to be a good price. However, it was also interesting to talk to Edward as his parents farm alpacas in Australia and have an arrangement with a farm in New Zealand as well. We will be going that way on September 1st so I've agreed to call in earlier in the day. I'd better chase up all my outstanding invoices so I can buy one of the studs if they're going for a good price!
