Rushmere Alpacas

Today was Circe's turn. We had planned on just taking Brunhilde to keep her company but when we drove the trailer into the paddock to load them, Fabiola was first up the ramp so we took her too. With Fabiola in the box, the other two went in without too much trouble, although Brunhilde  was bit reluctant up the ramp.

Again the journey went very well and we were very early. This time I was more organised and had packed a flask of coffee and some croisant plus a sort of folding settee, which was much admired. We must look out for a small folding table though!

As two of our alpacas were shorn, we collected quite a lot of 'sight seers' and were kept pretty busy chatting. The first event, which was the only one we had enterred was junior female fawn. There was a lot of discussion and standing around but eventually we started.  Neil took Circe into the ring this time, she was a bit nervous and Fabiola hummed  a lot but it went reasonably smoothly. Sadly she didn't look her best as it started raining on the way up and she had got quite wet. With her very fine fleece it was badly affected. The judging took a long time as there were around 20 entries in the class. Sadly we were not in the final 6, but more good experience. We bought some buckets of mineral lick plus some fleece bags but left soon after, sad we couldn't add another rosette but at least with no incident.
